If I had a penny for everytime someone has said this to me within the past three months, I could probably buy a big kids happy meal by now.

Not only am I making changes, I'm doing it on my own and at my own pace. Typically, I would be alone when it came to any kind of change, possibly with the help of a therapist or professional. But this time is different. This time I am focused on right now, where I am, and how I get to where I want to be. It may sound cliche, but it actually does work.

There have been incredible things happening in my life. For once, I am standing up for me and believing in myself to go the extra mile. I am not allowing anyone's opinion to persuade my decisions.

I am not taking "no" for an answer, and I am taking the necessary actions to get what is fair, instead of reverting to my habit of letting people walk all over me.

I can't say it's easy, because it is hard as ever. I also can't say it's worth it, because I haven't gotten to that point yet. What I can say is its invigorating. Exciting. Motivating.

For anyone reading this who may have been taken advantage of, I challenge you to take care of yourself, and confront the issues that you're dealing with.

Well, this is more than relevant for today. Not only did I launch my official website and brand, but I have accepted the position of a Mental Health Counselor at the Sheppard Pratt Center for Eating Disorders. Words cannot describe how incredibly honored I am to "work hard at work worth doing". I am excited to share my knowledge and experiences with others who are suffering from an eating disorder, and any co-occurring diagnoses. Stay strong, and remember to always Refuse to Sink.

I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass, no treble
I'm all about that bass
'Bout that bass

Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two
But I can shake it, shake it
Like I'm supposed to do
Cause I got that boom boom that all the boys chase
And all the right junk in all the right places

I see the magazines workin' that Photoshop
We know that shit ain't real
C'mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty beauty, just raise 'em up
Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top

Yeah, my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She says boys like a little more booty to hold at night
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along

I'm bringing booty back
Go ahead and tell them skinny bitches that
No I'm just playing I know you think you're fat
But I'm here to tell ya
Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top

Yeah my mama she told me don't worry about your size
She said boys like a little more booty to hold at night
You know I won't be no stick figure silicone Barbie doll
So if that's what you're into then go ahead and move along
Words Seriously cannot describe how much I adore this book. Not only is Allie Brosh a great writer, but her drawings are laugh out loud funny! When I first saw the book, I did not anticipate it being as good as it actually is, but it has proven to be on my top list of books for the summer! There is a chapter (or many) that everyone can relate to. Whether it be a love for cake, or adopting a "helper" dog, you will most definitely find something to laugh at!
You can find some of her amazing book and drawings on her blog!

In honor of it being a mere week away from August, I wanted to share my love for Whitney English's Day Designer! Not only is the designer an eye pleaser, it is practical and organized as well! The Day Designer was made with the creative entrepreneur in mind. It features a month layout, as well as a day layout with extras that you will not find in an everyday planner. The Day Designer is to help plan a well-designed life, while still acomplishing the daunting tasks that the day brings.
Something I started making a habit of is reading one book per month. This may sound like a typical new years resolution type goal, but it helps me to unwind from the day and focus on something other than work or stressful things.

I recently started following Joanna Goddard's blog called, 'A Cup of Jo'. A few days ago, Joanna posted the wonders of this new memoir by Roz Chast, a former NY Times cartoonist. If you haven't heard of  Roz Chast, I strongly suggest checking out her website and reading up on all of the amazing (and hilarious) things she has contributed!
